I worked for IBM first during a leave from college.  I then worked for Burroughs.  Both of these jobs involved fixing mainframe computers.

Finally, I worked for Digital Equipment Corporation as a support engineer.  My job was to help a group of engineers resolve tough problems (both hardware and software) On various computer systems.

I have been self employed as a consultant for about twenty years.  I have taught computer courses to college professors.  I have supported computer systems at many colleges.  I wrote a multi-partitioned operating system for a research lab.
